Many people stick with a bad host because they don't know how to switch or can not afford to have their site be down. The following instructions will provide a simple solution on how to switch your web host without experiencing web site downtime.
1. You've made the first step by find the new host you want to join, but be sure not to cancel with your old hosting provider yet. Don't even tell them that you are switching as this could cause them to cancel your account and you would then have downtime.
2. Now you should have two web site hosting accounts, the old and EAS Hosting. You will now upload your entire site from the old host to your EAS Hosting account. This can be done by connecting to their ftp and downloading all your files. Then connecting to your new ftp and uploading all your files. If needed, we will transfer your entire site over free of charge!
3. After you have all your files on both hosting accounts you will change your domain names dns. Now refer to your welcome email sent when you signed up your new domain name servers (dns) will be listed there. They will look similar to the this:
NS1.EASDESIGN.COM
NS2.EASDESIGN.COM
If you are not certain on how to change your DNS information please feel free to contact us and will assist you in getting this information changed for you.
4. After 48 hours have passed your DNS information should have been updated. Please submit a ticket to ensure that your site is properly updated and then you will be able to contact your old host and cancel your account.
